FRAUSCHER YACHT SHOOT
During the shooting for FRAUSCHER YACHTS, I was able to combine the elegance of luxurious boat culture with my passion for clear lines and strong visual stories. Against the backdrop of Mediterranean light, with modern design language and the special dynamics on the water, images are created that perfectly combine aesthetics and emotion. These pictures not only show yachts but also a way of life.
Fascination, aesthetics, and a touch of luxury – that's what many people associate with the world of yachts. For me as a photographer, I recently had the extraordinary opportunity to perfectly stage these elements. My shoot for the Austrian boatyard FRAUSCHER, known worldwide for its innovative design language and high-quality engineering, took me to Mallorca. On board the 1414 Demon Air, I not only got to experience the yacht in action but also capture the atmosphere and lifestyle of this brand with my camera.
Since 2012, FRAUSCHER has operated its own test center in Port Adriano, one of Europe's most luxurious marinas. From there, I embarked on a unique journey along the Mallorcan coast with stops at breathtaking locations like Cala Fornells. This backdrop provided the ideal setting to showcase the beauty of the 1414 Demon Air and visualize the connection between man and machine.
“Engineers of Emotions”
FRAUSCHER is much more than just a yacht company. The brand's philosophy of evoking emotions through exceptional design and technical perfection is palpable in every detail of the yachts. The 1414 Demon Air, the brand's "flagship," embodies these values to perfection. At the Frauscher test center in Port Adriano, yachts can be experienced in an authentic environment – far from showrooms or exhibition halls. Here, the brand's vision comes alive. Elegance, performance, and emotions merge into a single entity.
The Shooting: Capturing Technology and Emotions
For the shots, I relied on the proven Leica M 240 and complemented it with up to 70-year-old Leica lenses. This combination unites modern technology with the unique aesthetics of classic lenses, creating images with character and depth. The challenge was to capture the dynamics of the yacht, the reflections of the water, and the emotional connection of the people on board during a trip along the coast.
The start in Port Adriano already offered impressive motifs: the contrast between the modern yachts and the historic architecture of the harbor. As soon as we set off towards Cala Fornells, the scenery changed dramatically. The turquoise bays and dramatic rock formations provided a perfect backdrop for the yacht.
The Journey with the 1414 Demon Air
The 1414 Demon Air is not only a visual masterpiece but also technically in a class of its own. With two engines, each delivering up to 860 hp, the yacht glides effortlessly across the water. However, it's not just the speed that impresses, but also the feeling of control and harmony. During the journey, you can feel the passion that has gone into every detail of the design.
On the way to Cala Fornells, we stopped at several places to photograph the yacht in different lighting conditions. In the morning, the rising sun bathed the yacht in a warm gold, while the midday hours emphasized the clear blue of the water. The sound of the wind, the gentle waves, and the hum of the engines created an atmosphere that you have to experience yourself to understand – and that is exactly the magic of FRAUSCHER.
